LaVonne Mack Hugghins
July 29, 1926 - September 18, 2016

The beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend who was LaVonne "Vonnie" Hugghins entered into heavenly rest on Sept 18, 2016.

Vonnie was born in Iowa July 29, 1926, the second daughter of Kathryn McCunniff Mack and William J. Mack.

Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents and sister & brother-in-law Marian and Ed Gowanlock.

Vonnie received BS in Commerce from the University of Iowa and worked for 45 years in Houston outdoor advertising, retiring from Gannett Co. in 1993. She was a member of St Vincent de Paul Church for over 65 years.

She is survived by beloved daughter Terri Moore & husband Kim; grandsons James, Brian (Katie) and Michael (Roxie) Moore; great grandchildren Mason, Zachry, Emmie, Katen and Logan; and nephews Cork, Mack, Michael and Mark Gowanlock.

A loyal daughter of Ireland, Vonnie was among the loyal Houston contingent who ceremoniously laid a wreath and drank a toast annually at the former site of the famed Shamrock Hotel, a place of great memories for her including sharing a cocktail at the bar with Frank Sinatra one afternoon.

Vonnie was always organized and well-prepared. In fact, she had written three different versions of her obituary but this is the one we liked best: Vonnie Hugghins
