Debra was born on December 1, 1955 in Oelwein, Iowa to Donald and Geraldine (Lilly) Luther.  Deb graduated from Oelwein High School in 1974.  She earned her Bachelors Degree in Teaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 1981.           From that day forward she devoted her life to teaching and being an important part of children’s lives.  Deb touched the hearts of many children throughout her life teaching in Des Moines, Oelwein, Spirit Lake, Fairbank, and presently in Cedar Rapids at KinderCare.           Deb loved collecting elephants and also enjoyed puzzles. However, Deb will be remembered most for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren.  Deb will be dearly missed by all who knew and continue to love her.           Left to celebrate Deb’s life is her daughter Angella Luther (Dre) of Waterloo; her grandchildren: Shawnnessy,  Arye Anna and Tres of Waterloo; her mother Gerry Luther of Oelwein; her brother Donald “Duke” (Cindy) Luther II and her nieces Libbi and Jessi Luther, all of Brooklyn Park, MN; her brother David (Kelly) Luther, a nephew Justin Luther and great-niece Jossalin, all of Cedar Rapids; as well as many friends.           In death, Deb has rejoined her father Donald(2002), and her brother Rich Luther(1977). A memorial fund has been established in honor of Deb by her family.  SERVICES: 11:00a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with Father Harry Koelker officiating.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein. VISITATION: 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein with a scripture service at 7:00p.m.
