Terry Lee “Tink” Reagan was born on July 23, 1937 in Parkersburg, Iowa, the son of Chester and Caroline (Stickly) Reagan. He attended school at Parkersburg. He enlisted into the United States Navy and spent twenty years in the Navy, serving on four different Air Craft Carriers and a tour in Viet Nam. He worked for the City of Oelwein at Woodlawn Cemetery as sexton for eighteen years, form June of 1984 to 2002. Terry comes from a long line of hunters and fisherman. He spent many hours hunting and fishing (some of them with Ruth) and taught his talent to all his children and grandchildren. They also enjoyed camping and sitting by the campfire. One of his favorite things was the families taco Fridays. But his most enjoyable time was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family and friends have very many good memories of Terry and they will cherish them forever.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his four children, Dori and her husband, Kevin Frana of Decorah, Iowa, Brett Reagan and his wife, Linda, of Oelwein, Faye and her husband, Tom Stewart of Oelwein and Chet Reagan of Oelwein; his 15 grandchildren, Cori (Chris) Klein, Austin (Lindsey) Ives, Brandon (Charity) Ives, Kayla and Shelby Frana, Troy (Jessica) Stewart, Nick (Nycole) Palmer, Jacob Reagan, Tommy (special friend, Stephanie Kennon), Taylor Stewart (Amber Wineck), Tanner and Tessa, Talon and Madelyn and Lauren Reagan; eight great grandchildren, Caleb, Carson, Ella, Mackenzie, Addyson, Kaylie, Nevaeh, and Alyssa; two brothers, Doug (Sue) Adelmund and Jerry (Marilyn) nAdelmund both of Parkersburg and a sister, Rhonda Adelmund also of Parkersburg. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Caroline; a grandson Terry Stewart; two sisters, Sharon Peterson and Birdie Kugel and his step-father, Burt Adelmund.
Terry L. Reagan died on Monday-October 19, 2009 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Visitation will be on Thursday-October 22 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein and one hour before services at the church. Services will be on Friday-October 23, 2009 at 10:30 am at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date |
