Betty Kellogg
March 14, 1936 - April 30, 2017

Betty Kellogg, 81, of Oelwein passed away on Sunday April 30, 2017 at Arlington Place in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 9-11 AM on Monday May 8, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will then begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Connie Markle officiating.  Inurnment will be at a later date. 

Betty Ann Kellogg was born on March 14, 1936 in Nashua to parents Ralph and Ethel (Heinmiller) Demro.  She graduated from Charles City High School with the class of 1954.  On June 6, 1954 she was united in marriage with Lynn Kellogg at Charles City.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family.

Betty was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association, 600 Club, United Methodist Women’s group, American Legion Auxiliary and the Oelwein Planning and Zoning Commission.  She enjoyed Bowling, gardening, gambling and shopping.  Most of all, she enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren.

Left to celebrate Betty’s life are her children: Debra (Randy) Kellogg-Rummel of Oelwein, Denise Green of Waterloo, Damon (Linda) Kellogg of Vista, CA, and Dana (Shelly) Kellogg of Central City; her grandchildren: Angela Weepie (Jeremy Schmitt), Alison (Damien) Clark, Zach (Christina) Glew, Ziana Glew, Kara Kellogg, Kristina (Paul) Donica, Katie Kellogg, Damon Kellogg, Jr., Kelsey Kellogg and Kasey Kellogg; her great-grandchildren: Aryn, Lori, Gemma, Callista, Lawson and Mason; her brother Edward Brown of Overland Park, KS.  She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, her parents and her sister Dorothy Demro.

My sympathy to the family. I met Betty when she bowled in Independence a couple of years. She was a blast. I always looked forward to that night ans we always had a good time. She was an awesome lady.

You have my deepest sympathy. Betty was such a delightful person and remember many laughs with her at Tuesday night bowling - probably 40 years ago. She always had time to talk and most of the time had a little story to tell that brought out the light side of life. God will welcome her into His world of sunshine.
