Brian Mallam
April 8, 1983 - October 19, 2021

Brian (Bartels) Mallam, 38, of Rice Lake, WI and formerly of Oelwein passed away Tuesday October 19, 2021.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday October 27, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Brian was born in Iowa City on April 8, 1983 to parents Robert Mallam I and Dawn Ledesma.  He graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 2001.  On October 25, 2006 he was united in marriage with Sara Kane in Oelwein, and they later divorced.

Brian was employed at Leo’s in Oelwein from age 14 into his early 20’s.  He then ventured into various sales positions until his passing.  He had a larger than life personality and had a natural ability to make friends everywhere he went.  He was known for being able to walk into a room full of strangers and walk out friends with everyone.  He always had a smile on his face, compliments to give and making people laugh.  He enjoyed hunting, weight lifting, superman, spending time with family and lifelong friends.  Most of all, he loved being with the greatest joys of his life, his children.

Left to celebrate Brian’s life are his children: Brian, Skylar, Caiden Mallam and Austin Kane, all of Duluth, MN; his parents: Dawn (Michael) Ledesma of Oelwein and Randy (Esther) Bartels of Oelwein; his siblings: Fonda Ciesielski of Oelwein, Tiffanny Ledesma of MN, Faith (Derek) Smith of Oelwein, Shaun (Hali) Ledesma of CO, Ben Bartels of Hazleton and Tanner (Brandy) Bartels of FL; his nieces and nephews: Lola, Stella, Sevara, Evalynn, Arabella, Emma, Elyjah, Archer and Atticus; his grandmother Connie (Consuelo) Ledesma of Oelwein; his grandfather Ray Bartels of Oelwein.  He was preceded in death by his father Robert Mallam I; his brother Robert Mallam II; and his grandparents.
