Brigid Campbell
August 21, 1952 - January 10, 2021

Brigid Campbell, 68, of Oelwein passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.  There will not be any services at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Cards may be directed to Allen Hendershott at 15 Hillside Drive West in Oelwein, IA 50662. 

Brigid Ann Campbell was born in Detroit, MI on August 21, 1952 to parents Richard and Isabelle (Morgan) Postel.  She attended school in Winthrop, IA.  Brigid managed the Paddock Lounge in Oelwein for over 20 years.  More recently she bartended at the American Legion Lounge in Oelwein, and had also worked in the kitchen and reception hall there.  Brigid enjoyed her time visiting with friends and was known for doing whatever she could for others.

Left to celebrate Brigid’s life are her children: Allen (Julie) Hendershott of Oelwein, Renea Hendershott of Colorado Springs, CO and Tina (Jason) Keeler of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren: Emily, Eli, Charlotte and Raeanne; her siblings: Kathy Davis of Fayette, Sally Postel of Waterloo, Mary (Pat) Youngblut of Otterville, Richard (Joan) Postel of State Center, Maureen Kimmerle of Independence and Pat Postel of Hazleton; her special friend Jerry Meyer of Aurora; as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger Campbell; and her longtime companion Donald Adams.

Brigid lived across the street from my parents for many years. She showed them tremendous thoughtfulness and support through some tough times at the end of their lives. She was truly a special person whose kindness was greatly appreciated. Rest in peace, Brigid.
