Charleen "Chuckie" Fox
February 28, 1933 - December 25, 2025

Charleen “Chuckie” Fox, 92, of Oelwein passed away Thursday December 25, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.  Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 PM on Friday January 2, 2026 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 3, 2026 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein with Pastor Randy Baldwin officiating.  Interment will be in Fairbank Cemetery at Fairbank.  Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.

Charleen Mary Ann Fox was born in rural Fairbank on February 28, 1933 to parents Gus and Pearl (Robinson) Jensen.  She graduated from Maynard High School as Valedictorian with the class of 1951.  On November 4, 1951 she was united in marriage with Clifford Fox at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairbank.  Chuckie was employed as a clerk with various businesses and most well known with Fareway in Oelwein for 25 years, retiring in 2016.

Chuckie was one of those people that lit up the room when she walked in.  There were no strangers to her, just friends she hadn't met yet.  Once you were a friend you would get an endless supply of hugs and the occasional smack up the side of the head followed by a smile and a giggle.  She was like a second mom to many and had enough love to go around.  She always loved to cook and boy she could cook!  She made the best homemade buns but everyone would tell her how terrible they were to tease her.  If you were special you would get a bun with a surprise baked inside.  If left unattended the bun would surely get a finger poke in it, she loved to poke your bun, your shoulder and your heart with her love.  She was one of a kind and all that knew her know what we are talking about.  All of our lives are fuller and we were blessed to have the most loving mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt or friend that you could have.  Chuckie will surely be missed, but never forgotten.

Chuckie is survived by her children: Sandi (Linda Werdel) Ingles of Waterloo, Debbie (Doug) Nuss of Oelwein and Lonnie (Dawn) Fox of Independence; her daughter-in-law Cindy Fox of Ellenton, FL; her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford (1994), her son Randy Fox (2019) and her daughter Vicky Wolfe (2019).
