Fredrick (Fred) Roy Cox passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home in Oelwein, Iowa after a battle with cancer.  Fred was born December 15, 1936 in Aitkin, MN to Roy and Gertrude Smith Cox.  He and his wife Astrid (Freddy) lived in Brainerd, MN from 1969 until the time of Freddy's death in 1995.  He will be dearly missed by his children Christine Cox, Cynthia Horton, Lori Walz, Bob Fredricks, Jeri Harting, Jackie Bission, 15 grand children, and 15 great- grand children many nieces and nephews and special friend Ronda Downs.  He is preceded in death, by his parents, siblings, wife, son Greg and 2 grandsons.  There will be no funeral as he donated his body to science.  There will be a Life Celebration Ceremony at the South Long Lake Town Hall on Hwy. 25 from 6-8 p.m.  on Thursday April 21.  Friends are welcome to come and share their memories and celebrate his life with his family.
