Darin Christensen, 56, of Oelwein passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Wednesday August 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday August 21, 2025 at Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Memorial services will begin at 10:30 AM on Friday August 22, 2025 at Antioch Christian Church in Oelwein with Pastor Carl Lipke officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.

Darin Allan Christensen was born in Independence on April 27, 1969 to parents Roger and Anita (Hendersen) Christensen.  He graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1987.  On September 22, 1990 Darin was united in marriage with Kelli Christensen.  He served his country in the Army Reserves.  Darin owned and operated Christensen Construction and Home Improvements for many years.

Left to celebrate Darin’s life are his wife Kelli of Oelwein; his children: Breanna (Jacob) Hartsock of Oelwein and Tyler (Brianne) Christensen of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Austin, Rowen and Michael; his sister Susan (Scott) Schabacker of Victor; several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
