David Latham, 68, of Oelwein passed away Friday February 6, 2026 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 10:30 AM -12:30 PM on Thursday February 12, 2026 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home of Oelwein.  Funeral services will then begin at 12:30 PM.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.

David Duane Latham was born in Oelwein on June 6, 1957 to parents Duane and Rosemary (Harkin) Latham.  He attended Oelwein schools.  He was united in marriage with Christine Kleppe and they had two children, and later divorced.  He then was united in marriage with Rachel Dilky and they had two children, and later divorced. 

Davey lived a life full of Laughter and love.  Always quick-witted and ready to play a prank.  He showed everyone what hard work was, working construction for Skogman Realtors for over 10 years and XL Specialized Trailers for over 25 years.  He had a mechanics heart and loved working on cars, especially with his sons and grandchildren.  Davey and his twin brother Donnie shared almost every adventure in life since the day they were born and it’s only fair that their last journey be together as well.

Left to celebrate Davey’s life are his children: Vanessa (Cameron) Wilson of Oelwein, Brittney (Andrew Heth) Berry of Oelwein and Ryan Latham of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Jared, Brandon, Emma, Sutton, Ivy, Alix, Elizabeth, Hunter, Axten and Maddex; his great-grandchildren: Addison, Ava, Mia, Maverick and Brantley; his significant other Erin Kennedy of Oelwein; his siblings: Susie Denny, Doug Latham, Sandy (Pat) Lange, Daniel Latham and Andrea (Ben) Baily; his many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jeremy Latham; his siblings: twin brother Donnie Latham, Kathie Waite, Dennis Latham and Michelle Ohl; his nephews and nieces: Dane Latham, Brett Richardson, Regina Latham and Mindie Bass.
