Donald Coselman
June 1, 1920 - March 20, 2015

Donald “Cos” Coselman, 94, of Oelwein passed away on Friday March 20, 2015 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Monday March 23, 2015 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 3:30 PM and Military Honors at 7 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.

Don was born in Oelwein, IA on June 1, 1920 to parents Vern F. and Anna (Eschen) Coselman.  He attended Oelwein High School.  Don then served his country honorably in the United States Army.  On June 19, 1948 Don was united in marriage with Anne Roth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein.

Don worked as a Carman for the Chicago Great Western Rail Road for 23 years and at John Deere for 10 years.  He also owned and operated Cos’ Tap.  He was a member of the American Legion and 3rdand 4thDegree Knights of Columbus.  Don enjoyed golf, fishing and many years of camping, but most of all, family gatherings.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate Don’s life are his sons: Steve (Carolyn) Coselman of Oelwein and Jeff (Barb) Coselman of Waterloo; his daughter Annie (Jim) Lindstrom of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Brent (Janine) Coselman , Brian (Kelly)Coselman, Stefanie Coselman, Tucker Coselman, Abby Coselman, Jodi (James) McGrane, Jill (Doug) Sullivan, Jeanna (Jason) Lumbus, Johnna  Lindstrom and Jimmy Lindstrom;  his great grandchildren: Caitlyn, Rihanna, Peyton, Johnnie, Leah, Devin, Carson, Claire, Jack, Jacee, Austin, Justice and Lexi; his sister-in-laws: Dorothy Gloede and Marie Kirby; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Anne; his daughter Barbara; his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws: Barb and Roy Vanselow and Ruth  and Dell Fraser; and his parents.

We have beautiful memories of Cos and Ann over many years. His energy was that of a 60 year old when it came to fishing which he gave up just a few years ago.
