Dorothy Rohrick
April 14, 1930 - February 25, 2022

Dorothy Rohrick, 91, of Oelwein passed away Friday February 25, 2022 at her home.  Dorothy gave as generously in death, as she did in life, by donating her body to the University of Iowa College of Medicine.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.

Dorothy Alma Rohrick was born in Oelwein on April 14, 1930 to parents Harry and Alma (Gosse) McInnis.  She attended Oelwein schools.  She also attended Hawkeye Tech and earned her degree in Nursing.  She was united in marriage with Robert Rohrick in Oelwein and they later divorced.  Later Dorothy met the love of her life Bob Renslow, and was with him until his passing.  Dorothy retired from Oelwein Healthcare Center after many years of service.

Dorothy "Dort" was a very outspoken lady and not afraid to tell you where she stood, but all who knew her loved her very much.  When the kids were younger, the house was always a gathering spot for all the neighborhood kids and they all loved "mom" also.  She loved the residents she worked with at the care center for all those many years and they loved her back.  In her later years her love was her cats and she had many of them.  As a family member always said, Dort was a Hoot.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Left to celebrate Dorothy’s life are her children: Pam Noah of Waubeek, Craig (Carolyn) Rohrick of Independence, Deb (Mahone) McLaury of Oelwein, Kim Annis of Oelwein and Lisa (Mike) Peckham of Oelwein; her step-sons: Randy (Becky) Renslow of Oelwein and Ray (Charlotte) Renslow of Oklahoma; her step daughter-in-law Carol Renslow of Oelwein; her daughter-in-law Lila Rohrick of Oelwein; her seventeen grandchildren; her many great, and great-great grandchildren; and her three cats: Ditto, Charlie and Judy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bob Renslow; her son Barry Rohrick; her twin sister Delores Taylor; her brothers: Alvin McInnis and Vernie McInnis; her step-sons: Bobby Renslow and Rick Renslow; her sons-in-law Jon Noah and Frank McLaury.
