Phillip Fish, 72, of Oelwein passed away on December 29, 2012 at Allen Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 5, 2012 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 12-1:00 PM on Saturday as well. Inurnment will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Phillip was born in West Union on January 27, 1940 to parents Arthur and Cecelia Fish. He graduated from Fayette High school in 1958. Phillip served his country honorably in the United States Army. Phillip was united in marriage to Rosie Donathan and they later divorced.
Phillip was a construction worker and operated a lawn care service until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, lounging in his back yard, visiting with the Amish, and eating tomatoes with deb. He always had kind words for all.
Left to celebrate Phillips life is his Art Fish of Oelwein; his daughter Irene Maffei of Oelwein; his sisters: Anabel Meyers and Lillie Osbock, both of Georgia; his brother Robert Fish of Alabama; his special niece Kathy Petty; and many more nieces and nephews.
In death, Phillip has rejoined his parents Art and Cecelia; and his brothers Chuck Fish and Chester Fish.
A memorial fund has been established.
