Frederick Martin, 86, of Oelwein passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Oelwein Healthcare Center.  Fred gave as generously in death, as he did in life, by donating his body to the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine.  A celebration of life is planned for a later date at Oelwein Healthcare Center.

Fred was born on December 13, 1931 in Saint Joseph, MO.  On April 19, 1996 he was united in marriage with Genevieve Gould in Oklahoma.  He served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps.  He enjoyed walking and backyard fires with his family.

Left to celebrate Fred’s life is his wife Genevieve; his step-children: Art (Deb) Medberry of Oelwein, Roger (Linda) Medberry of Oelwein and JoAnn (Greg) Vogt of Dubuque; his grandchildren: Ben Medberry and Courtney Timmerman; and his great-grandchildren: Benji, Laney and Braxton.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Mae Rose.
