Dane Lee Latham
May 4, 1986 - January 26, 2011

Dane Lee Latham was born on May 4, 1986 in Oelwein, Iowa the son of Lowell Latham and Paula (Gallmeyer) Reyerson. He grew up in the area and graduated from West Central High School in Maynard, Iowa in 2004 and from Hawkeye Community College in 2006.  He was employed at Avalon Tire in Oelwein for the last three years.

He enjoyed wrenching on cars and as he was growing up he would work side by side with his dad as they worked on cars, they also enjoyed fishing together. As he got older he would chase storms with his mother looking for that “Ultimate Storm”.  He was so proud of his tattoos especially the one on the bottom of his foot  “Made In America”.  His family was very special to him as well as his dog Mocha. Often he  referred to his niece and nephew  as Hot Rod  and Pork Chop. He also enjoyed his Trans Am, whether he was wrenching on it, racing it or just going for a drive.  Dane had a heart of gold and a happy go lucky nature about him. He will leave a void in everyone’s life but he will always be a fond memory to cherish forever.

Dane is survived by his father Lowell (Dawn) Latham;  his mother Paula (Mike) Reyerson;  sister Lanessa (Jeremy) Yauslin, niece and nephew, Chloe and Dalton Yauslin all of Oelwein; step-brother Josh Marvets of Cedar Rapids; step-sisters Crystal Klein and Felicia Wilson of Oelwein; grandparents Lee and Nedra Gallmeyer of Hazleton;  special friends Mandy and Landon Davis of Oelwein; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Doris and Lucille Latham; his step mother Diana Latham; and a cousin Christopher Steil.

VISITATION: 3-7PM Sunday, January 30 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 11AM Monday, January 31 at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein.

Dear Paula and Family,
How very sorry I am for your loss. I had never met Dane but I know his grandparents, Lee and Nedra, and if Dane was as sweet and loving as they are, I know I would have loved him also as much as I love Lee and Nedra. Please know that my heart is so saddened for all of you You have all been on my mind so much and I wish I could say or do something to make this hurt less but I know that is impossible. I do feel in my heart that your Uncle Claire met Dane with open arms and welcomed him to his new home and right now as I write this Uncle Claire and Dane are working together on one of our Heavenly Father's projects that was undone and waiting just for them to tackle the job. May God Bless each and everyone of you and know that Dane will always be with you as your uncle Claire will always be with me, in our hearts.
Love,
Janet Gallmeyer
