Linda Duffy-Passmore
March 23, 1945 - November 18, 2016

Linda Lea Stohr-Duffy-Passmore, 71, of Independence, Iowa went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2016 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.  Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday November 22, 2016 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein, with visitation from 9:00 am until the service time on Tuesday. There will be a private burial at a later date in Fontana Cemetery in Hazleton, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established by the family.

Linda was born on March 23, 1945 on the family farm near Hazleton, Iowa, the daughter of Milo and Ellamae (Lotts) Stohr.  She graduated from the Stanley High School in 1963.  Linda worked as a telephone operator at US West until her retirement. She was first united in marriage to Ronald Duffy, they were later divorced. On May 27, 2003 she was united in marriage to W. C. Passmore, he passed away on January 26, 2012.  Linda enjoyed fishing, camping, visiting the casinos, watching racing, music ( especially at Branson, Missouri), cooking and time with her grandchildren. Linda touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Duane (Kathy) Duffy of Stanley, Iowa and Darin (Jennifer) Duffy of Urbana, Iowa; two grandchildren, Karter and Ella; five “granddogs”, Cooper, Carley, Red, Bentley and Ally; two brothers, Lloyd (Della) Stohr of Hazleton and Larry (Pat) Stohr of Oelwein; her first husband, Ronald Duffy of Fairbank, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

My thought and prayers are with you. Linda was as good friend in high school. I remember once in home ec. clrk6pass I pulled her chair back when she went to sit down. She forgave me but never let me forget and we remained friends. She will be missed.
