Lorena Oltrogge, 96, of West Union and formerly of Stanley, passed away Thursday August 13, 2026 at Good Samaritan Home in West Union.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday August 20, 2026 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will then begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Stanley Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. 

Lorena Maxine Oltrogge was born April 15, 1930 in Arlington to parents Charles and Millie (Peterman) Livezey.  She graduated from Stanley High School.  On April 14, 1962 she was united in marriage with LaVerne Oltrogge at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein.

She loved the simple joys in life like playing cards, cooking and canning, and spending time helping others.  She loved to stay busy, and her quick wit and sense of humor could always bring a smile or laugh.  Her generous heart, helping hands, and wonderful personality will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Left to celebrate Lorena’s life are her son Darrel (Heather Burrows) Oltrogge of Hawkeye.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LaVerne (2018); her son David and her sister Ruth Luth.
