Dorothy Elizabeth Lowe was born May 16, 1944 to Charles and Ann Ross in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from High Park High School, Chicago in 1963 and from there attended University of Chicago where she received her BA Major in Art and a Minor in Child Development. . She taught headstart in Chicago for thirty-two years and was a Girl Scout Leader there also.
Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a very caring person, making Easter baskets and preparing school supplies for needy children. She devoted her life to her family and children.
Dorothy is survived by her three children; Dwayne (Tabetha) Lowe of Oelwein, Larnita (Duane) Lowe-Davis of Missouri and Kim Lowe (Jessie) of Oelwein; eight grandchildren, Dwayne “Poo-Poo” (Doris) Jett, Chanta (Will) Lowe, Lazeric “Snow” (Samantha) Lowe, Sharada Jett, Tiffany Lowe, Percious Lowe, Kwame Lowe and Aolyia Lowe; four great grandchildren, Kyeisha Jett, Diamond Jett, Rashad “Noonie” Lowe and Deandre Murphy Jr.; her siblings, Barbara Nelson, Jerry Ross, Renee Preston, Sadie Brent and Ricardo Lofton.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charae Lowe and a brother, Charles Ross, Jr.
