Michael Dunne
October 9, 1961 - May 3, 2020

Michael Dunne, 58, of Oelwein passed away Sunday May 3, 2020.  Private funeral services will be held at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Fontana Cemetery at Hazleton.  A memorial fund has been established.

Michael Dean Dunne was born October 9, 1961 in Sioux City, IA to parents Hershel Lee Welch and Barbara Kay Dunne.  He graduated from Beresford High School in Beresford, SD with the class of 1979.  He then served his country honorably in the United States Navy.  He was united in marriage with Christine Ann Maire.  Mike was a longtime truck driver.

Mike loved camping and fishing.  He also loved watching the Raiders, the Lakers, and UFC fights.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Left to celebrate Mike’s life is his wife Christine Maire; his children: Dustin (Sarah) Havlin of Tea, SD, Casey (Tona) Dunne of Hazleton, Ted (Chantele) Lauth, Jr. of Oelwein, Amy (Brian) Tellin of Oelwein, Michael L. Dunne of California; his grandchildren: Maddie and Joel Havlin, Brodie and Ryder Herriage, Hayden and T.J. Lauth, Karsyn Thompson, Talan Maire, Jaxton and Amity Dunne; 26 nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: James and Mildred Dunne; his parents: Hershel Welch and Barbara Busch; his in-laws: Mark and Beverly Maire; his brother in infancy: Jeffrey Busch; and his sister-in-law: Kayla Ortiz.
