Nick was born on March 24, 1961 in Sioux City, IA to parents Bobb and Garnet (Mohlis) McKibbin.  He attended schools in Mason City, Alburnett and Oelwein.  He was confirmed at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein.  On March 19, 1982 he received his degree in Automotive Mechanics from Hawkeye Technical College.

On March 19, 1982, Nick departed Oelwein for Colorado.  He was employed with Sturgean Electric as a crane and heavy equipment operator.  The largest job in all his years in Colorado was his part in the construction of the Denver Airport.  He recently participated in the construction of his new home, having completed the foundation, septic system and much of the interior himself.  He loved boating, riding his motorcycles, fishing and classic cars.  He spent the last 29 years of his life in lovely Colorado.

Nick is survived by his Mother Garnet McKibbin of Oelwein; his brother Kirk McKibbin of Marion; and his nephew Reece McKibbin.  He was preceded in death by his father.
