Priscilla Thornton, 86, of Oelwein passed away Friday September 25, 2026 at Arlington Place Assisted Living in Oelwein.  Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday September 29, 2026 at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein.  Funeral services will then begin at 11:00 AM at the church.  Burial will be held privately in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Hazleton. 

Priscilla Gail Thornton was born in Oelwein on October 21, 1939 to parents Walter and June (Miehe) Halsted.  Priscilla graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1956.  She then attended the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.  In April of 1959 she was united in marriage with Reginald Thornton, and they later divorced.  To this union, 4 children were born: Lane, Michelle, Darin and Eric.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Lane in 1993 and brother Douglas Halsted.

Surviving her are Daughter Michelle (Anthony (Skip) Woodward of Pembroke Pines, FL, Son Darin (Deb) of Lawler, Son, Eric (Melissa) of Oelwein and Daughter in law, Lynn Thornton of Cambria, WI. Grandchildren: Mandy Thornton, Tyler (Ally) Thornton, Toni (Zach) Antonie, Tara (Jorge) Mateu, Benjamin (special friend Stacey) Woodward, Sarah Thornton, Hunter Thornton, and Isaac (special friend Melanie) Thornton; as well as 8 great-grandchildren.
