Delbert Rhines Sr., was born February 28, 1942, in Fayette, Iowa: the son of Earl and Martha (Maser) Rhines. Delbert worked for AMPI as a truck driver hauling milk. In the last few years he was a chauffeur for the Amish. On September 11, 1974, he was united in marriage to May Necker in Fayette, Iowa. They were later divorced.
Delbert passed away on October 10, 2009, at AllenHospital, at the age of 67. He is preceded in death by his parents and step father. Delbert is survived by three children; Delbert (Kathy) Rhines Jr. of Hazelton; Christina (Rhines) Johnson of Elgin, and Brian Rhines of Oelwein; legal guardian of Pamela (Dean) Dudley of Oelwein, Berry Schneider of Oelwein, and Vickie Beaulieau of Independence; three grandchildren, Trevor and Taylor Johnson, and Parker Rhines; two sisters: Donna (Mike) Pierce of Clarksville, Delores (Leonard) Williams of Waterloo, and many friends and family. Delbert will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Visitation is from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Geilenfeld Funeral Home with services following at 1:00 pm at Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Union Cemetery in Aurora, Iowa.
