Ron McLaury
February 24, 1968 - July 17, 2021

Ronald McLaury, 53, of Hazleton passed away on Saturday July 17, 2021.  Graveside services will begin at 10:30 AM on Thursday July 22, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein with Pastor Jon Brown officiating. 

Ronald Allen McLaury was born in Oelwein on February 24, 1968 to parents Vincent Jr. and Paulette (Reisner) McLaury.  He graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1986.  He served in the Iowa Army National Guard.  On August 27, 1988 he was united in marriage with Dorothy Jackson in Hazleton, they later divorced.  Ron had been employed with Imperial Roofing, IBP and the Oelwein Daily Register.

Ron loved to hunt and fish.  He loved his daughters and grandchildren, and had the biggest heart of anyone you would ever meet.

Left to celebrate Ron’s life are his children: Danielle McLaury of North Carolina and Leann (Quinton) Rose of Waterloo; his parents: Vincent and Paulette McLaury of Hazleton; his siblings: Scott McLaury of Hazleton, Susan McLaury of Hazleton, John McLaury of Prairie du Chien, WI, Steven (Shelly) McLaury of Jordan, MN and Teresa (Scott) Strong of Vinton; his grandchildren: Bently, Luke, Gannon and Atticus; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Vincent McLaury Sr., Leta Guildard, Booey Reisner and Dorothy Reisner; his niece Zoe Goodenbour.

I remember the first time I met Ronnie we where in 7th grade we became good friends we worked together at IBP Ronnie & I also did alot of fishing together sense I knew Ron I met the rest of his family I also became friends with his siblings
