Ruth Ann Hayzlett, 82, of Hazleton passed away Thursday March 19, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.  Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday March 29, 2026 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday March 30, 2026, with visitation for one hour prior, at First Baptist Church in Oelwein with Pastor Dave Byrd officiating.  Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at West Union.

Ruth Ann Kohls was born April 5, 1943 in West Union to parents Richard and Irene (Grimes) Kohls. She graduated from Valley of Elgin High School in 1961. On May 21, 1964 she was united in marriage with Tom Hayzlett at First Baptist Church in Independence. Ruth Ann worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. After leaving the telephone company she cleaned many houses and businesses for 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and sitting in her swing. Most important to her was her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be dearly missed by them.

Left to celebrate Ruth Ann’s life is her children: Darin (Angie) Hayzlett of Hazleton, Katie (Dan) Trimble of Fairbank and Jerry (Jen) Hayzlett of Ashton; her grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Hayzlett, Nicole Hayzlett, Lily (Heron Moreno) Hayzlett and Adalyn Hayzlett; her great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Hayzlett and Riley Hayzlett.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Hayzlett; her parents Richard and Irene Kohls and brother Donald Kohls.
