Roland "Roger" Strempke, 55, of Oelwein died Saturday, December 24, 2011.

Roland “Roger” Strempke Jr. was born on June 22, 1956 to parents Roland Strempke Sr. and Leola “Lee” (Jones) Strempke. He graduated from West Central High School in 1975. Roger married Carma Forney (Davis) in 1981 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Roger worked at John Deere for several years. He later worked for various farmers. He retired from AMPI.

Roger was always a hard worker, and a friend to so many. He will be dearly missed.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife Carma; his sons: Travis (Angel) Davis of Oelwein, and Jeremiah Davis of Oklahoma; his granddaughters: Alexis and Jasmine; and grandson Indiana; his mother Lee Strempke; his brothers: Scott (Sandy) Strempke, David (Marlys) Strempke, and Clint Strempke; his sisters: Angela (Rick) Ohlendorf, Lisa (Roger) Wilker, and Dawn Perssons; many nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his grandson Miles Davis , and his father.

Visitation: 3-7 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: 11 AM Friday, December 30, 2011 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.

We are so sorry for your loss. Roger was a great guy. He always had an ear for listening & helping/giving advice when needed. I enjoyed talking to him & you; whenever I saw you two. I enjoyed the few years I got to work with him. I (KinDee) am kind of in shock; I just found out. We will always remember Roger (he passed on my husbands b-day); I'll never forget him. Again, we are so sorry for your loss.

Carma and family, Roger will be greatly missed. I have not seen him in years but have very fond memories of him and dad when he milked for us. He was always one to remember us through the years when we would bump into him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
