Donald Adams, 87, of Oelwein passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.
SERVICES: 1:00 pm on Friday-December 21, 2012 at Geilenfeld Funeral Chapel in Oelwein with Rev. Charis Combs-Lay officiating. There will also be a 1:00 pm service at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, Illinois on Saturday.
VISITATION: There will be a time to socialize immediately following the service at Geilenfeld Funeral Home on Friday.
Donald L. Adams was born on August 7, 1925 in Volga City, Iowa the son of Walter and Viola (Carpenter) Adams. He grew up in the DeKalb Area where he attended Vostall Rural School. Don worked for thirty one years for Allied Vans. He married Beverly Carlson who passed away in 1985. Later Don moved to Oelwein where he met Brigid Campell and they became life partners.
Don is survived by his life partner, Brigid Campbell of Oelwein; a son Donald Adams of Arvada, CO; a daughter, Judy Bear of Oelwein; two brothers, Bill Adams of DeKalb, Illinois and Harvey Adams of Pryor, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly (1985); a brother, Walter; two sisters, Hazel and Daisy and a son Terry.
