Beryl Latham
January 31, 1939 - December 25, 2020

Beryl Latham, 81, of Hazleton passed away Friday December 25, 2020 at his home.  There will not be visitation.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday January 8, 2021 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.  A memorial fund has been established.

Due to state and federal guidelines on gatherings regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing is required.  Those in attendance are required to wear a mask.

Beryl Junior Latham was born in Oelwein on January 31, 1939 to parents Doras and Lucille (Boots) Latham.  He attended Oelwein High School and served his country honorably in the Iowa National Guard.

Beryl was no stranger to so many people around the community.  He’s been known to be hilarious, kind, generous, loving, and one heck of a fisherman.  He enjoyed fishing all around the Midwest including Minnesota.  He worked for John Deere and retired after 30 great years.  There were always tractors in every room of his house and he took great pride in his career.  It was there he met his love, Susie.  They had a great life together that he cherished.

Beryl loved his family immensely and made sure they all knew that.  There were many family gatherings and fun trips.  We know he’d want us to mention his McDonald’s family too.  He enjoyed your company and he always talked about the fine people he spent time with there.  He always knew how to have a good time.  Beryl was one of the best people to have the pleasure of being around.

Left to celebrate Beryl’s life are his children: Bruce (Karine) Latham of Prior Lake, MN and Gregg Latham of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Rob (Sarah) Latham of Prior Lake, MN, Nicole (Sean) Barstad of Shakopee, MN,  Tiffany (Eric) Zieser of Hazleton, Zhanna (Artum) Guskov of Minnesota, his great-grandchildren: Genevieve, Cecelia,  Edison, Jinna, Isabella, Brooklyn, Clara, Jackson, Sophia, Samuel, Christian, Seth, Matthew and Joshua; his siblings: Joan Stolfus, Carol Neilsen, Kenneth (Marilyn) Latham, Bea (Ted) Leonard, Linda (Mike) Steil, Jon Latham, Mary (Harry) Ritter, Lowell Latham; and many nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Doras and Lucille Latham; his loving partner Susan Beenken; his grandson Thomas Latham; his great-granddaughter Brittney Latham; his siblings: Duane Latham, Ronald Latham and Faye Ziegler; his nephews Christopher Steil and Dane Latham; his sister-in-law Beverly Latham and his brother-in-law James Stolfus.

Sincere sympathy to friends and family of Beryl.
I doubt he ever met a person he didn't like, or who
didn't like him. He had such a nice smile and was
pleasant to everyone. May he rest in peace.
