Christopher Clark, 53, of Oelwein passed away on Friday October 17, 2014. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Wednesday October 22, 2014 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11 AM on Thursday October 23, 2014 at the funeral home as well with Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.
Christopher Eugene Clark was born on August 28, 1961 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Eugene and Emma (Hied) Clark. Chris grew up in the area and graduated from Oelwein High School in 1979. He continued his education with two years of college. Chris was married and later divorced. After moving to Oelwein he obtained a job with Transco in Oelwein. At the time of his death he was Safety Director/Lead Airman. He has been with Transco for almost thirty years.
Chris enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, following NASCAR, taking long rides on his motorcycle and playing the guitar. He was also a big Vikings fan and went to many games (he had tickets for a game in November for him and his son Quinton). Chris was a hard worker and a good friend to all who knew him; he will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his children, Allison (Bill) Lautenschlager of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Quinton Clark of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two grandchildren, Calvin and Holden Lautenschlager; and a sister, Shirley (Jim) Schreck of Monmouth, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Emma and a sister Bernita Clark.
