Deleva Hope Hardman, 85, of Oelwein passed away on Sunday March 17, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11AM on Thursday March 21, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein with Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Visitation will be from 3-7PM on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home and for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.
Deleva was born October 5, 1927 in Aurora, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and Hattie (Weston) Brown. She grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1945.
On February 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Joseph Wayne Hardman in Aurora, Iowa. She worked at Transfer and Storage Co. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as a billing clerk, Durfey Store in Aurora, and Iowa and First National Bank in Oelwein, Iowa. She was also a homemaker for several years.
She enjoyed her family, her owl collection, crocheting, and word puzzles.
Those who were thankful for sharing her life are: four sons, Roger (Kim) Hardman of Cabot, AR; Wesley Hardman of De Soto, WI; Donald Hardman of Oelwein; Bob (Teri) Hardman of Knoxville, IA; one daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Noe of Marion, IA; four grandsons Jeff (Mia) Hardman of Marshalltown, IA; Ben Hardman of Cabot, AR; Drake Hardman of Madison, WI; and Ryan Hardman of Knoxville, IA, four granddaughters: Jodi (Mark) Gedler of Des Moines, IA; Christina Hardman & Trent of Des Moines, IA; Deandrea Hardman of Madison, WI; and Aubrey Hardman of Knoxville, IA; and five great-grandchildren: Jaci, Madi, Elise, Parker, and Nate).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Wayne) 1994, a brother Leone, daughter-in-law Janice, and granddaughter Jennifer.
