Bernice Marie Lincoln
December 31, 1917 - December 8, 2012


Bernice Marie (Adams) Lincoln entered into her eternal rest on December 8, 2012 at the age of 94, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette, IA after a short illness.  Visitation will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday December 11 at Geilenfeld Funeral Chapel in Oelwein.  Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Geilenfeld Funeral Chapel.    

Bernice was born on December 31, 1917 in Fayette County to Francis and Mary Catherine (Engleman) Adams.  She grew up on a farm with her brother, Robert Adams, and her sisters, Venita Weir and Aileen Jones.  She attended the Strawberry and Lamont Schools, graduating from Lamont High School in 1935.

 Bernice was married to Clyde J. Lincoln on October 23, 1940 at Decorah, IA by the Rev. TJ Elwick.  After their marriage they farmed in Scott Township.  They were the parents of one son, Rex Alan.  Bernice will be remembered for her hard work ethic, her hospitality, and her love of family.

 Bernice was preceded in death by her son Rex (1973); her husband Clyde (1976); her parents; her sisters Venita Weir and Aileen Jones; her brother Robert Adams; her brothers-in-law and their spouses: Abraham (Abe), Roy, Harry, and Carl Lincoln; Sisters-in-law and their spouses: Helen Willis, Lizzy James, Ada Alshouse, and Marie Versluis.

 Bernice is survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.

I remember all the good times I had as a child going to Clyde and Bernice's. I used to stay with them some and spent time playing with Rex. I did visit her at the nursing home several years ago when I was in Fayette. I was blessed to know her and will always remember her...

My Grandma (Irene Lincoln), my Dad (Marvin Lincoln), my sister (Becky (Lincoln) Foland) and myself use to go on Sunday drives around the area we would eat at a restaurant but we always ended up back at Aunt Bernice's for pie, Aunt Bernice was a Beautiful Person,
