Llea May Hintz, 94, of Fayetteville, Georgia and formerly of Oelwein, passed away early morning on Saturday February 29, 2020 in Fayetteville. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Friday March 6, 2020 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday March 7, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor Duane Olsen officiating. Inurnment will be next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.
Llea was born January 20, 1926 on the family farm near Lamont, Iowa to Harry and Susie Ingamells. She graduated from Independence High School in 1944. She lived and worked in Charles City, Iowa for a short time after graduation, until moving to Oelwein.
On November 13, 1949 she was united in marriage with Richard Hintz in Oelwein. To this marriage was born two sons, Charles in 1951 and David in 1954. Llea was a homemaker, seamstress, and occasionally helped her husband in his funeral home. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She lived in Oelwein for 70 years until moving to Fayetteville, Georgia in 2018 to spend her remaining years near David's family.
Left to celebrate her life are her sons: Charles (Lana Ohlsen) Hintz of West Des Moines, IA and David (Renee) Hintz of Peachtree City, GA; her grandchildren: Cindy, Jessica, and Jeremiah; her great grandchildren: Chelsie, Patience, Nakaoas, Nycholas, Shannon, Jordyn, Avery, and Ryder; her great-great grandchildren: Santiago and Elena; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Susie; her husband Richard in 1993; and sisters: Thelma Broad and Jean Vargason.
