Rob was born in Waterloo, Iowa on July 1, 1981. He was raised in Oelwein until he moved to Wisconsin his sophomore year of High School where he graduated from Spooner High School in 2000. He worked many jobs in construction, sales, working with the disabled, oil fields, machinist, factory and working beside his step-dad doing landscaping. He was absolutely a "Jack of All Trades" and always eager to start another adventure in his life. He spent his days encouraging others to live life to the fullest with a "What if tomorrow never comes" mantra. He lived for snowboarding in Minnesota, playing his guitar, fishing, surprising his family in Iowa with visits, lifting weights, social gatherings, pulling pranks and most of all, just making people laugh. In his last two years he moved back to his hometown of Oelwein and really soaked up time with family, friends and most of all being with his nieces and nephews who were his greatest joy in life. Rob was very social, loved everyone he met and they loved him just as much in return. He will be very dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rob is survived by his Parents Dawn (Michael) Ledesma of Oelwein, Iowa and Robert "Bob" (Liz) Mallam of Spooner, WI. Grandmother Consuelo "Connie" Ledesma of Oelwein, IA. Grandparents Ray and Carol Bartels of Oelwein, IA. His siblings Brian (Sara) Mallam of Des Moines, IA, Fonda (Chad) Ciesielski of Oelwein, IA, Tiffanny Ledesma of Cedar Falls, IA, Faith Bartels of Oelwein, Ben Bartels of Stewartville, MN, Shaun Ledesma of Cedar Falls, IA, and Tanner Bartels of Oelwein, IA. His nieces and nephews, Brian, Austin, Skylar, Lola, Stella and Caiden.

Rob is preceded in death by Great-Grandparents Lee and Eleanor Coleman of Oelwein, IA. Grandparents Fred and Dixie Ritchie of West Union, IA. Edward and Genevieve Mallam of Spooner, WI.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.

Dawn and Mike, I was so suprized when Janice called and told me of your loss. Our family has had alot of loss too and I feel your pain. Though I have to say I think the loss of your oldest child has to be even harder than the loss of a parent or sibling. Please know that even though I can not be there for you in person my thoughts and prayer are there for you. Try to find some peace in your heart in knowing how much Robbie Loved you. Chris

Please accept our sincere condolences in your loss of Robbie. I was stunned to hear of his passing. I still think of him as toddler when I was babysitting Dawn's kids at the house on 1st Street, not a 31 year old man.

I'm sure you all have very fond memories of Robbie and will be sharing them for some time. I will be thinking of your family this week and we will have you in our prayers. I'm sorry we will not be able to make the trip to attend the visitation or the funeral. Please take care!

I know this has got to be the worst feeling imaginable. You have got to be questioning so many things. Dawn, know that Robbie knows you never gave up on him, even when most people would have. Rest assured you have him all the love in your heart. Share this time with people who loved him as he was, imperfect. Draw strength from those who will also feel a void in their life, and are pulled together to grieve. As I told you I am here to talk to or to cry with.

told you, I am just around three corner
