Margaret (Ott) Cook
September 16, 1931 - December 28, 2015

Margaret (Ott) Cook, 84, of Oelwein passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 31 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein with Deacon Jim Patera officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Margaret was born on September 16, 1931 in Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Bruce and Rose (Meier) Batterson. She grew up in the Oelwein area, graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to William Ott on September 15, 1951. William passed away on May 16, 1979. Later she was united to Kenny Cook. After her marriage to Kenny they moved from Oelwein to Winthrop. Margaret work several places part time but was a full time mother and homemaker. She enjoyed her trip to the casino, playing the pull tabs, playing the piano, but her greatest joy came from her family time especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her eleven children, Michael Ott of Hazleton, Iowa, Sandi (Joe) Yoder of Aurora, Iowa, Dale (Sandy) Ott of Readlyn, Iowa, Cindy (Gary) Hammers of Independence, Iowa, Linda Ott of Northfield, Minnesota, Donald (Cathy) of Floyd, Iowa, Betty (Pete) Etringer of Dunkerton, Iowa, Clayton Ott of Oelwein, Kevin (Sandra) of Parker, Colorado, Karl (Kristi) of Geneseo, Illinois and Philip (Jenn) Ott of Earlville, Iowa; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband William; second husband Kenny; a grandson, Thaddeus Gilson; a sister, Lucille; a brother, Walter; and her parents, Bruce and Rose.

My Deepest Sympathy in the loss of your Mom. Your Dad was my first cousin. I haven't seen your mom in years,but always enjoyed visiting with her and your Dad when we did get together. Clayton and maybe some of the rest of you know my son Terry. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

Also, so sorry we can't make the trip for the funeral; however, right now Roy's just not up to it.
