Ann (Schmidt) McCue, 64, past away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Danville Care Center in Danville, IL.
Ann was born on January 4, 1947 in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Elton Wm. and Sarah Elizabeth (Campbell) Bly. They lived in Stanley, Iowa until Ann was almost three years old, then moved to Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1965. Before Ann’s two children were born she worked at Allen Memorial Hospital, helping out in the x-ray and EKG departments. Once Amy was born she became a full time mother. She was both a Girl Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Leader, helped at church with Bible School and played Santa Claus at Christmas for Volunteers for Youth. In 1976 Ann moved back to Oelwein to help take care of her two aunts, Mabel and Marion Campbell. In 1995 she was united in marriage to Larry McCue and they moved to Maynard. Ann’s life was spent caring for others and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. She loved helping others and giving of herself.
Ann is survived by her two children, Amy (Dennis) Baskerville of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mark Schmidt of Davenport, Iowa, four grandchildren, Brent Tripp, Aaron Schmidt, Tyler Barber and Matt Barber and her first husband, Mike Schmidt of Panama City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry McCue and her parents, Elton and Sarah.
VISITATION: 4PM - 7PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 11AM on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stanley Cemetery at Stanley, Iowa.
