Mike Ricchio
April 4, 1951 - February 20, 2017

Michael Curtis Ricchio, 65, of Oelwein passed away on Monday February 20, 2017 at his home.  Public visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday February 23, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Services will be private.  A memorial fund has been established.

Mike was born in Racine, WI on April 4, 1951 to parents Alex and Arlene (Blurton) Ricchio.  He graduated from Oelwein High School with the class of 1971.  Mike then served his country honorably in the United States Army in Vietnam.  On October 7, 1975 he was united in marriage with Terry Hauptmeier in Oelwein.  They later divorced.  On June 8, 1996 he was united in marriage with Mary Lou (Faust) Eikenberry in Oelwein.  Mike was an electrician, retiring from Ken’s Electric in 2016.

Mike loved being out in his garage tinkering with his model trains and antique radios.  He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan.  He was especially a Chicago Cubs fan.  Mike always had a smile on his face, and a joke in his pocket.

Left to celebrate Mike’s life are his wife Mary Lou; his children: Jesse (Jaci) Ricchio of Norfolk, NE, Dennis (Cassie) Eikenberry of Oelwein, Brian (Jasmina) Eikenberry of Ankeny and Beth (Brett) Belden of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Jackson, Anderson and Madison Ricchio, Courtney and DJ Silvestri, Brielle Belden, Benjamin, Leila Eikenberry and one on the way; his great-granddaughter Kinley Silvestri;  his brothers: Tom Ricchio of Oelwein, Alex Ricchio of Oelwein and Andy (Rose) Ricchio of WY; his sisters: Sharon (Dave) Morris of Oelwein, Alice (Bob) Benter of Oelwein, Mary (Terry) Bruns of Early, Cindy Stowe of Hazleton and Barb (Norm) Stenzel of Lansing, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister in infancy, Patricia.
