Neal Schoultz, 84, of Oelwein passed away Monday December 23, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein.  A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday January 2, 2025 at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home in Oelwein.  Neal gave as generously in death, as he did in life, by donating through the Iowa Donor Network. 

Neal Theodore Schoultz was born in Oelwein on August 15, 1940 to parents Albert and Myra Ann (Cousins) Schoultz.  He graduated from Hazleton High School with the class of 1959.  On July 14, 1962 Neal was united in marriage with Colleen “Cookie” Speed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein.  Neal was employed with Donaldson Company in Oelwein for many years, retiring in 1999.

Neal worked at Sun Mart Grocery Store as a produce manager until the tornado destroyed the store.  He worked many part time jobs until getting hired at Donaldson’s company where he worked for 33 years.  Neal enjoyed his retirement years visiting friends, driving his red pick-up truck, playing on his computer, fishing, and going to the grocery store. Neal was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who enjoyed spending his time with his great-granddaughter Amera.

Left to celebrate Neal’s life are his wife Cookie of Oelwein; his children: Chris (Missy) Schoultz of Hazleton, Kim Schoultz of Oelwein, Shawn Schoultz of Hazleton and Justin (Teegan) Schoultz of Oelwein; his grandchildren: Ben, Blaze, Crystal, Brandy, Gabby, Ryder, Austin and Darin; his twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Darin Schoultz; his brother David Schoultz and his sister Rose Heningcamp.
