Thank you all for you thoughtful messages. It really helps to hear these remembrances. Dad is and will be missed by all of us but I will be forever thankful that I was able to be with him when he passed. It was very beautiful and peaceful. He is now in heaven and am sure he is having a wonderful time with all the Palmers and friends he has lost.

So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He was quite a character and will be missed. I think he sold every house in Oelwein twice didn't he? :) I hope the years have been good to you, Jane and your brothers.

take care

George's family:

Ken and Marsha just told me about your fathers passing. My heartfelt condolences for the passing of a hero and end of an era for our extended family, now they are once again all united. George was quite a man and certainly one of a kind. They don't make them like him anymore.
