Patty Morgan, 85, of Oelwein passed away Tuesday July 30, 2019.  Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30AM on Saturday August 3, 2019 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home.  Funeral services will then begin at 10:30 AM with Pastor Phil Rownd officiating.  Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Hazleton.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  For condolences, please visit www.geilenfeld fh.com.

Patty Irene Morgan was born November 25, 1933 in Lamoni, IA to parents Artist LeRoy and Opal (Negley) Smith.  She graduated from Leon High School of Leon, IA with the class of 1952.  On May 29, 1955 she was united in marriage with Vernon Howard Morgan at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  Patty was a homemaker to her family of seven children.  She was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein.  Patty loved playing 500, Yahtzee and Phase 10, and was quite a formidable and competitive opponent.  She possessed a talent for embroidery, having created many wonderful gifts for her family.

Left to celebrate Patty’s life are her children: Kent (Michelle) Morgan of Round Lake, IL, Rick (Kim) Morgan of Stanley, Karen (Darrell) Quarles of Saluda, SC, Diane (Frank) Cowell of Walford, Linda (Randy) Nus of Arlington, Sandy (Jeff) Kuda of Cedar Rapids and Kim (Kevin) Walford of Red Oak; her brother Bill (Mary) Smith; her sister in-law Ruby Smith; 15 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Bob Smith; her sister Pam McKee and her brother in-law Morse McKee.
