Robert “Bobby” Reisner was born on November 8, 1953 in Oelwein, Iowa to William and Martha (Nueman) Reisner, Sr. He grew up in Oelwein and attended Oelwein High School. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1971 and was Honorably Discharged in 1974. On June 16, 1979 he was united in marriage to Lydia Ramos in Oelwein, Iowa. Bobby worked for Humphrey Construction and later spent twenty-eight years with Prairie Road Builders. Bobby enjoyed fishing, playing bean bag, hitting the casino, watching the Iowa Hawkeye’s and just life in general. He was an early riser and never missed his coffee stops (Two Brothers and Dick’s Café). His greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his two grandsons. Bobby touched a lot of lives and everybody that knew him will dearly miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia; his two daughters, Tanya and her husband, Terry Shannon of Oelwein and Heidi and her husband, Lenny Fritz of Oelwein; two great grandsons, Zachary Hernandez and Luke Shannon; his siblings, Barb Shaffer of Cokato, Minnesota, Sandy Hanson, Debbie (Art) Medberry, Mary Reisner, Jim (Mardell) Reisner, Skip (Mary Pat) Reisner and Larry Reisner all of Oelwein. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha and three brothers, Terry Reisner, Junior Reisner and Rick Reisner.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday-October 15, 2009 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Chapel in Oelwein. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery with full Military Rites led by Ross Reid Post #9 of Oelwein.
