Rose Mary Miller was born on May 10, 1926 in Longobucco, Italy to parents Joseph and Mary (Pisano) Stasi.  She came from Italy to Oelwein when she was about 2 months old.  Rose was the last living Italian immigrant from Oelwein.  She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1944.  Rose was united in marriage with Paul Miller on May 10, 1950 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish House in Oelwein.

Rose was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein, and a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.  She enjoyed Salmon fishing with her husband.  Rose was very kind, and was a people person, always able to strike up a conversation with anyone.  She enjoyed lottery scratch tickets, and had on one occasion won a pretty good prize.  Most of all, Rose loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to celebrate Rose’s life are her children: Pauline (Vince) Fettkether of Oelwein and David Miller of Oelwein; her grandchildren: Nancy (Travis) Bachman, Carol (Greg) Lamphere, Andrew (Patricia) Fettkether and Bradley Miller; her great granddaughter Evelyn Fettkether; her sisters: Kathryn Stasi of Oelwein and Theresa Stasi of Oelwein; her brothers: Louis “Luigi” (Colleen) Stasi of Oelwein and John (Norma) Stasi of North Liberty; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Paul Miller; her parents; her brothers: Sam Stasi (in infancy) and Peter “Pete” Stasi; and her sister-in-law Sheila Stasi.

Rosie prayed for ALL of us... everyday. The lasting impression she will leave on our little family... is the fact she wasn't afraid of the word love. GOD bless her soul.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you All.

Respectfully,

An absolute saint of a lady..aunt Rosie was definitely cut from a different cloth than the rest of us. Always had a story, always had a smile, and always finished a conversation with an "I love you", even if she had just met you...and meant it. She is missed.
