Teresa Miller, 43, of Oelwein passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Wednesday July 24, 2013 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Funeral Services will then follow at 1:30 PM at the funeral home as well. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been established in Teresa's name.
Teresa was born on March 30, 1970 in Oelwein, Iowa the daughter of Joseph Michels and Annamae (Cornilsen) Michels. Teresa attended and graduated from Oelwein High School in 1988. On May 4, 1991 Teresa was united in marriage to Edward Miller, Jr. at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Teresa enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed volunteering at the Oelwein Meal Site. She really enjoyed singing karaoke and being a Designated Driver to all of her friends that needed her. Teresa loved keeping score for the men’s softball league. She loved her NASCAR and watching her Chicago Blackhawks when they won the Cup this year-she was very excited. Teresa loved to collect pigs and cherished her collection of over 300. She was a friend to all, and considered most of them family. She always had a good joke to tell you.
Teresa is survived by her mother, Annamae Michels of Oelwein, her father Joseph Michels of Waterloo; her daughter, Annamae Miller of Oelwein; a sister, Cheryl (Duane) Derr of Osage; three honorary daughters, Kenzi, Shelbe and Kellie; an Aunt, Maxine Klaes of Guttenberg; Sister-in-laws, Pam of New Hampton, Jean of Charles City, and Jan (Scott) of Dubuque; brother-in-laws, Terry of Charles City, Bruce & Chris of Dubuque; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; mother and father-in-law, Rose & Ed Miller; 2 brother-in-laws, Clete Welter & Dave Galloway; sister-in-law, Deb Galloway; a niece, Sydney Miller; an uncle, Paul Cornilsen and maternal and paternal grandparents.
